Amir Abdulazeez is a Senior Lecturer and Academic Researcher based in Nigeria. He completed his first degree (Geography) in 2010 and Master’s Degree in Physical Geography in 2015 from Bayero University Kano (BUK). He had his Ph. D in Geography with specialization in Fluvial Geomorphology from Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State in 2023. Abdulazeez is a member of Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), Nigerian Association of Hydrological Sciences (NAHS), Nigerian Geomorphological Working Group (NGWG) and Association of Nigerian Geographers (ANG). He teaches Research Methods, Hydrology and Water Resource Management, Extreme Weather Events, Urban Climatology, Risk and Disaster Management.
His works in these fields are evident from his publications which include book chapters, technical reports, several journals and conference proceedings. He has attended international conferences in Niger Republic, United Kingdom, Netherlands and China. He has a working relationship with national and international organizations like Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC), Society for Water and Environmental Protection (SWEP), Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Nigerian Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP), etc.
Abdulazeez is an environmental practitioner and consults for Multi-Spectrum Nigeria Limited, Glasscock Consulting Limited, Northscape Solutions Enterprises, Northbridge College of Science and Technology (NCST) among others. He has taught in several institutions including Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) and Muhammadu Buhari Meteorological Institute of Science and Technology (MBMIST).
