Adolphus Ifeka is a Senior Lecturer and a Meteorologist with extensive practical experience in weather forecasting. He had work experience with the Weather forecasting Unit of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet). He completed his doctorate degree in Meteorology and Climate Science in 2021 from Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. He also received professional training in Meteorology at the World Meteorological Organization Regional Training Centre (WMO RTC), Lagos, Nigeriac He is an Associate member of Nigerian Meteorological Society and member of Climate Reality Leadership Project founded by Vice President Al Gore which is involved in education and advocacy related to climate change. He is an alumnus of Oxford School of Climate Change, a society deeply involved in exploring, designing and implementing climate solutions.
He teaches Climatology, Satellite Meteorology, Hydrometeorology, Synoptic Meteorology, Biometeorology and Numerical Weather Prediction. He has authored, co-authored, reviewed manuscripts and journal articles. He is a member of Paris Committee on Capacity Building poised to identify capacity gaps and needs and potential solutions, including enhancing the coherence and coordination of capacity building efforts related to climate change.
