Abubakar Umar Mashi is a Lecturer at Department of Meteorology, Muhammadu Buhari Meteorological Institute of Science and Technology, Katsina State, Nigeria. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from Bayero University, Kano in 2015 before proceeding for NYSC in 2016. Mr. Mashi as a professional Meteorologist has attended WMO Basic Instruction Package for Meteorologist (BIP-M) Course. He is a diligent worker with five years of working experience in weather observation and forecast, and a committed teaching work for the profession.

He teaches in the fields of Agro-meteorology and climatology, Agriculture and Climate Change. He is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS), Animal Science Association of Nigeria (ASAN) and Association of Meteorological Professionals of Nigeria (AMPON). He attends several workshops, conferences and trainings of World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
